CWIC is a partnership between several community agencies offering free, short-term mental health counselling to individuals, couples, and families across Eastern Ontario. We provide quick access to professional support without a long waitlist.
Services are available to all residents of Eastern Ontario, regardless of their status in Canada.
We offer individual, couples, and family counselling, as well as specialized support for children, youth, and certain communities (e.g., newcomers, 2SLGBTQ+, trauma survivors).
All counsellors are professional, licensed psychotherapists who are trained and supervised to provide safe, effective, and confidential care.

No — CWIC services are free of charge.
Sessions are 50–90 minutes, depending on the location and service.
CWIC provides short-term support. Some services offer single sessions, while others may provide up to three follow-up appointments. If you need longer-term counselling, we can help connect you with ongoing support.
Yes. Different sites offer services in different languages, which you can find listed on our website. We make every effort to offer services at least in English, French, Spanish, Arabic, and Mandarin.
Both options are offered for your convenience. You can choose to meet in person, by video, or by phone depending on the service.
While you can select from available services, counsellors are assigned based on availability and the type of support needed.
You can request your records directly from the agency where you received services.
CWIC is not a crisis line. If you are in immediate danger or distress, please call 911 or contact the Ottawa Distress Centre at 613-238-3311.
Your counsellor will help you identify next steps, which may include coping strategies, referrals, or follow-up appointments if available.
We specialize in rapid access to professional counselling without a waitlist, through a collaborative network of trusted community agencies.
